RIPperSVK -> Antiballistic missile WRA (1/22/2019 6:45:06 PM)

I'm playing the final Hail Mary scenario of Chains of War, and thinking about the WRA for anti ballistic missiles (e.g. SM-3). The default setting is 2 missiles against each ballistic missile. But in case the number of incoming ballistic missiles is high (e.g. similar to fire control channels) and chance of hit is high, this increase the chance that some missiles will get through - in each ABM missile salvo there's quite a lot of wasted missiles because 2 target the same incoming ballistic missile.

In this case it seems that the first salvo is better to use 1 ABM missile per ballistic missile, then switch to e.g. 2. Basically at first kill as many incoming missiles as possible quickly, then gradually increase chances of killing the leakers by sending more missiles against each.

I like how you're thinking about balancing effectiveness versus expenditures. Did you control it by changing things on the WRA screen or did you manually fire them, shooting one per first, then shooting two per at the remaining inbound weapons?

I controlled it via WRA - when the first wave of ABM missiles hit, I paused and increased the missile count in WRA. I think there were still some issues, e.g. if 1 missile was already heading for an incoming ballistic missile, and then I increased the missile count in WRA, then they didn't launch additional one. But I'm not sure about that, that would need some testing.
