jc4751 -> Peformance (1/31/2019 12:17:56 AM)

I bought this a while back, but found the performance even on a Dell 7559 was pretty anemic (quad core i7, gt960m, 16 gb of ram, so don't bother trolling me about gaming on a laptop). I had thought about giving it another shot, but was curious if there had been much in the way of updates to address the issues with line of sight calculations? Also, more for those in some "know" technically - I remember reading that the LOS calcs were based on the actual pixels of the hex art. Wouldn't it make sense to take the 80 for the 20 and define whether or not a whole hex blocks LOS? Steel Panthers did this and had good performance, even back in the 90s, without what felt like much detriment to gameplay. I get fidelity to ASL gameplay, but there are limitations to what you can do with processing cycles.
