m10bob -> Referance books on the cheap (2/4/2019 2:01:46 PM)

Finished reviewing one of my old stand-bys.
Osprey makes a nice collection of booklets, usually 50 to maybe 100 pages, depending on the subject, and the different authors are all well known historians.
Just finished looking at Osprey "Airwar 023"...RAF Combat Units of the SEAC 1941-1945....
Mant nice pictures and really detailed narratives, certainly more than one might expect for so few pages...(unless you are familiar with Osprey Books?).
This particular book gives great info regarding when squadrons were deployed in theater and the type aircraft they used.
It also gives info on drop tanks and bomb sizes, flight characteristics of the planes..some of which is not in the game as of this writing.(The Lysander regularly used an external fuel tank which doubles it's regular range, for instance.)

I know this series is available in many places...

(This is not from the book...but the plane and it's successes in RAF and RAAF hands are.)
