Ammann -> Fancy Fire in the East (2/10/2019 9:36:48 AM)

Hello my friends

I am looking specifically for the scenario Fite an opponent of the Germans would play TOAW version is 4.1.0.21

loveman2 -> RE: Fancy Fire in the East (2/10/2019 12:03:02 PM)

Well your post is interesting, but I would like to know what happened to our game of FITE2 which I spent the best part of 3 to 4 hours worth doing the first turn as germans then sending you the turn and after a fed days I sent you another e-mail asking if you received my first turn, which appears you are ignoring. Thanks but no thanks for wasting my time and effort.

Greetings mate

Sorry, but the weekend I had a lot to do ...... I have felled on my property still a few trees, so I could start just before the turn and he would be ready tomorrow. I hope for your understanding
If you want to continue playing

FitE is badly balanced and leans heavily in favor of the Soviets. Not even worth the effort to play it. FitE2 is much better.

Bartek01 -> RE: Fancy Fire in the East (2/14/2019 8:47:31 PM)

Fite is very historical balanced. Germans are able to knock down Soviets before winter 1941/42, later it's impossible, just like happened during WW 2nd.

Yeah right. Most games I've seen and played the Soviets are invading Finland in 1941 and have the Germans stopped well before they did historically.

+1, Of the several times I've played FITE as the Axis I seem to always
get stalled out around Smolensk. I'm not sure it's balanced now that
TOAW IV is out. I'd really love to see an AAR where the Axis do a
better job than I seem to be able to do.

This has been my experience also Larry. I was Soviet in one game and had knocked Finland out of the game by winter 1941. That allowed the Germans to get a bit farther than Smolensk but after Finland fell the Germans were in big trouble.

Here is a very well worked up Fite AAR under TOAW 3 from the German SI Forum ...... is in German and unfortunately the pictures have disappeared over the years ....... but here is the Achsenspieler really far come, unfortunately, at some point was no longer played

Bartek01 -> RE: Fancy Fire in the East (2/16/2019 1:04:36 PM)

I've played Fite nearly ten times from 2007 untill now. I've lost one time played by Russians ( tournament game), more than three times won, and two times I've played Germans ( one tournament game) and won both games.

Ammann -> RE: Fancy Fire in the East (2/16/2019 3:50:08 PM)

It's nice to be able to exchange thoughts, but I still do not have an opponent .... I play Axis or Soviets

BTW Fite 2 got a really funny map, Ukraina looks like Vietnam jungle ;)
