I hope after the USS Hornet is found (if it is found) that illegal salvagers don't sneak it and cut it up for scrap.

It's just a matter of time. Someone will find it and someone else will come along and chop it up. Nothing is sacred anymore.

One possible reason: Experts said grave diggers might be looking for even more precious treasures – steel plating made before the nuclear testing era, which filled the atmosphere with radiation. Hmm, Indonesian waters were shallow waters. I suspect these are quite deep waters. I don't think the International Thievery Corporation can get there.
