ORIGINAL: Trotsky21 I need to know: 1)Where to get the files. 2)What the file name is. 3)What the version number and date of the version number of the file being used or applied. 4)How to utilize the installation files so acquired. 5)What process to follow to end up with a functioning game (1126a) which includes all combat animations on a Windows 8.1 machine. Please be precise. Thanks. Greetings Trotsky, I had similar questions when i purchased the game last year. 1. go to the members club and log-in: https://www.matrixgames.com/members/games.asp?Filter=0 2. Click on "My Games" in the right hand column 3. You should see a list of the games you have purchased w/serial number. click on the link that says "Downloads" - Here you will find a list of all the files relevant to WITP.AE - the actual game should be the pc installer file v.1.00.79 (27 JUL 2009) (i installed from the CD, so i've never used this file) - the latest update is PC Update v.1.01.24 (28 APR 2015) NOTE: if you want to play with the beta patch it is v.1.01.26a (1 NOV 2016) - i am playing PBEM and we both agreed to not use the beta. your choice... - also, check out the planning map if you get a chance.. very cool Admiral's Edition Planning Map (26.4Mb) v.1.00.79 (28 JUL 2009) NOTE: the downloaded files are zipped, so you will need to extract first to find the installation files. * i created a separate folder to unzip to (see below)* after that, just install the game first and then install the patch. NOTE: I recently installed on 8.1 and noticed that the mouse will 'stick' when trying to scroll the map using the mouse. i fixed this by clicking on (any) hex first and it will scroll normally. also with 8.1, the music only has two levels, loud (2-5) and soft (1). I play the game with an old computer (XP is the operating system) and it does not have these anomalies. Also in 8.1 the game runs 'windowed' and in XP it runs full screen. Check out the 'readme' file for more info about various 'command line switches'. - good luck and have fun! ~ [image]local://upfiles/58671/30A75A820A5D4B45AD3D6BF8318BAEE2.jpg[/image]
