Tried to post, yet again do not hit control enter errrr. Ok short version of original post attempt :) Software takes space. My hand made offering (Ultra Steel Panthers cd that I make available to those that don't have a good download option eh) takes most of space on cd just for core program. I suppose a spiffy commercial machine might be more efficient. That said, when Matrix releases an MC disk, you can't expect them to put it all on one cd. Compilation, well if you release 2-3 cds, might as well accept 4 cds. Of course the new MC will have the core program, why wouldn't it? I would be stunned if Matrix didn't offer the latest version. Previous MCs, what would you pay? I think they are all still worth good money. Lets assume 10-15 US, make it 15. 45 bucks plus 30 for the new one. Will you pay 75 bucks US for the compilation? Sure that's steep. When was the last time though, you bought software that you already knew was solid stable and with no flaws worth comment? I myself know there are plenty that have never even played Steel Panthers (any version). Yes I know, seems incredible someone could have missed one of the best wargames made, that is also offered free. But all this talk of compilations seems pointless if people expect to get it for nothing. I think getting a compilation for less than 10 bucks US an MC which is 30 bucks, plus the 30 bucks for the new one, which is 60 bucks, is asking for to much. And remember, the initial sales were a bit light, Matrix Games won't go into re making those MCs lightly. So we need a poll I guess (which I will now put up).
