PeteGarnett -> CONV Question (3/23/2019 8:23:04 PM)

It's 1940 & with Germany headed east into Russia, the allies have attacked Belgium which aligned with Germany. There are zero Axis naval units at sea currently including subs.

Why now can the CW not transport the 3 S.African resouces, via portugese territory, to the CW. Worked fine before this turn and the only thing I can see has changed is that Belgian Congo is Axis. Yet it has no naval or air based there.

Struggling to see a cause - any ideas?

It's the first game I have played using the optional rule 'in the presence of the enemy' but I do not see that as an issue here.

This is because the railroad to Angola (Portugal) from South Africa passes through Belgian Congo. And once the Allies DOW Belgium the colony is at war with Allies as well.

And since Belgium aligned with Germany, Belgian Congo followed.

You now need to pick up the South African, and Rhodesian, resources one sea area further. In Cape Basin. Or conquer Belgian Congo.

Oh missed the obvious - thanks

I am curious as to how this game went, with Germany taking on a two front war.
