floyd17 -> Small Print on map (3/30/2019 12:34:44 AM)

I get the game to work but the print is small it is very hard to read. Do I need to change the Compatibility and Run in the shortcut? Thankyou

Could you show us what your shortcut instructions are? Mine, for instance, are "C:\Matrix Games\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition\War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" -fd -altFont -px1920 -py1080 -archive -cpu1 -dd_sw -deepColor -skipVideo -w

If you could give us that we might be of some help.

Mine is "D:\Matrix Games\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition.exe" -deepColor -skipVideo -fd-px1920 -py1080 -altFont -SingleCpuOrders

Is there a space missing in your line in the shortcut?

Regardless of the missing space, the resolution will make the map print very small - it is part of the artwork and cannot scale separately from the rest of the map. Apparently there is a magnifier option in Windows that will magnify what is under the cursor and other third party programs that will do the same. I use a glass magnifier that I keep in the computer station.

Was not sure if I needed to set something in the compatibility ( which has no settings selected) or change the run setting from normal windows. Thanks for the help. I just have to remember to change my scale and setting back to 100% from 125%. In the larger setting I loss the right edge and bottom of the map. Again thanks.

Try this: "-px1366 -py768"
Run in fullscreen and the screen will upscale to fit your 1920x1080 monitor. Resolution takes a hit but the fonts will be larger. I'm mentally resisting magnifying glasses. [;)]

Thanks for all the help. I now can play the game again.

What exactly is the monitors resolution?....GP

HansBolter -> RE: Small Print on map (5/1/2019 3:53:27 PM)

I have the same problem as the OP when running the game in my monitor's native resolution of 1980 x 1020.

I run the game at 1280 X 720 to get things large enough for me to actually be able to discern them.

Unfortunately this resolution will not run the game in full screen if the monitor resolution is left at 1980 x 1020.

I first have to reset my monitor resolution to 1280 x 720 and then launch the game with the 1280 x 720 resolution switch in the command line.

If he's using one of the newer 4k monitors in its native resolution of 3960 x 2040 the text would be microscopic!
