I think I may have read somewhere in this forum that some images don't show up in tutorials. Is that right?
I'm playing the Flight Tutorial 7 with Chinese and Russian aircraft. The Chinese images are there, but nothing for the Russians. Just wondering if I did something wrong when downloading the DBs.

The images files are separate download.

The current image package is downloadable from here:

FYI, we will be doing an update, which will be released (hopefully) by the end of April.

I've got the latest database downloads from January 5th installed. My question is, why Russian images are not showing up in Flight Tutorial 7.

milesjb, Command's databases contains many units and image package does not contains images for all units.

OK. I see now that the missing photos are for specific models of an aircraft, while the database does have photos of other models of the same aircraft.
When you think about it, the databases are pretty amazing to have photos of so many different models of the same aircraft.
At least now I knw my downloads are fine. Thanks to all for your help.

The image database is an ongoing project where the team ties to get accurate photos, from the correct year, of all equipment. Obviously, it takes a considerable considerable amount of effort, and there are gaps in what we have. kgambit and I are always looking for help with this project. If anyone has possible images to cover these gaps, we are always interested in looking at them. FYI, we should have another image update out at the end of this month. I believe it will have approximately 800 new images.

That's fantastic. Looking forward to it. Thanks so much for keeping this game's worth and long lasting playability growing. Truly WOTY stuff.

Please accept this as a suggestion and not an attack...
Would it be possible to reconfigure the database to point to one image...
For example: a MiG-29 would have one common image... An F-4 would have one common image. All the aircraft of that type would point to a single image.
I am not sure if that would be a lot of work or not...
Just a thought!

Any great job on the image packs!

Unfortunately, we can't have just one image for a particular system, ie, a F-16A is represented by a single image. As far as the game is concerned each of the various nationalities and sub-variants of the system are different, and the program doesn't let us use a "shortcut" so we could simply link to the same image. As far as I know, each system must have its own unique photo, not shortcut, attached to it.

Thanks for the answer. :)
