Hello

Occasionally when I try to build a naval task force I get to a situation where the ships do not stay within the group.

Let me explain what I mean.

I use the scenario editor and put a couple of ships in the formation I like. After that I grouped them all together and allocate them to a mission (the latter is optional).

Usually this works as it is expected but occasionally I get into a situation where as soon as the scenario starts some of the grouped units move away (or slower) from the rest of the group and I do end-up with a broken formation. Sometimes the distances might even become hundreds of miles.

Also when I try to move the group as a whole in the editor I do get this discrepancy with ships being left in the original position. Usually it is a few of them that fall into this and the majority of the group does what it should but it is annoying.

As I said this is not happening all the time, but if you have any ideas on what I am doing wrong I would be very grateful

Thanks in advance

Are you using the Formation Editor (doesn't sound like it)?

Group the units together, then go to Unit Orders / Group Operations / Formation Editor. With this window open, you can arrange the units in the formation you want and set their positions in the formation. Also take note of the option when you have the group selected near the top of the window on the right 'Group Lead can Slow Down', which may be needed in order to keep the group in formation.
