The Beta 2 folder only applies to the 1126b version of the game which is obtained from this forum rather than the Matrix website. You need to install the base game (that you purchased) and then the last OFFICIAL update 1124 from the Matrix website (you need your game serial number from initial purchase to do this.
After that you can install one of the betas or other mods.
The 1126b Beta includes the updates that are in the last OFFICIAL update 1124, so I think some players say you can skip the step of installing the official update.
1126b creates a separate copy of the game in a folder called Beta2. I am not using it so I am unsure if it is under the "Matrix Games" folder on your "C:" disc drive or not, but you should be able to find it post-install by using Windows Explorer to look at the file system, starting at the "C:" drive.
