Veloz -> TOŅET asking everithing about admiral edition (5/25/2019 6:36:19 PM)

My first doubt is that-what happend with the allied tanks are stronger than on WITP or less

second question; to embark troops on transports is neccesary to wait until the IA does

Third question; Do i have to reconvert transports because i had two types of transports to load units

playing as japan

Thanks in advance

1. Allied tanks are beasts in late war, rolling over Japanese if the latter are inluckily caught in the open. Akin to Chinese bein rolled over by Jap tanks in the beginning. Can be beaten back by fortified positions and artillery, or bombed, or strafed by fighter-bombers

2. Sorry, I don't understand the question, specifically what you mean by IA

3. You can load troops into cargo holds of xAKs, with smth like 1:10 ratio. But converting xAK to xAK-t can be done in any large port, takes only 5 days, and adds a lot of troop space. So why not. I routinely convert all my 18kt xAKs to xAK-t in the first month. xAPs are specifically tailored for troop transporting

I'm thinking he means AI.

In case my interpretation of his question is right, you can mix any types of transports in the same TF to carry troops, AP xAP AK xAK LSD APD etc. and so forth. No penalty except the slower ships rule the speed for all.

geofflambert -> RE: TOŅET asking everithing about admiral edition (5/25/2019 9:23:33 PM)

For the second question, it is necessary for the troops to be in the right mode for the TF at hand, or for the TF to be in the right mode for the troops you wish to load. I almost always use combat mode troops to load on amphibious TFs. Sometimes you might want to load strategic mode troops (it can take a day or two to get them in that mode) on transport mode ships.

Sorry to hijack the thread but didnt want to creat a new one for anoher one of my noob questions haha.

Is there a way to go through each army and ship and plane I have or is it just by sight? For example is there a menu that shows all of my troops?

On the top left of the screen are boxes with icons for all ground units, LB air units, Naval air units, ships, TFs, bases, etc. You can also isolate by nationality or type of unit.

Sometimes the word "Transport" is used in a general sense to mean any kind of troop movement by ship, but it is best to use the terms the game uses:

-Transport Mode is for a task force carrying troops and equipment/supplies in Strategic Transport mode. Equipment and supplies are crated and packaged for optimum shipment - i.e. you can stack a lot of stuff in crates that could not be stacked without crates - guns, rifles, vehicles, etc.

- Amphibious Mode is for TFs that need to unload troops and equipment and supply as quickly as possible, either during an invasion or at a base with no port or a small one. There is little packaging and troops keep their weapons available for immediate use. The TF loses 20% of its capacity because of the inefficient use of space (no stacking).

You cannot mix Transport loaded and Amphibiously loaded ships in the same TF!
If you begin loading a freighter with cargo in a Cargo or Transport TF (maximum use of space), and then decide you want to switch a ship to an Amphibious TF, you will not be able to even if it only has a tiny amount of cargo already loaded. It must be completely unloaded before you can switch loading mode to Amphib.

I made a second attack on PH; time to KB retire home and seek learn how to train the pilots lost (more than 20 Kates lost in this second attack on PH)

Things are doing normal in this first starting so BC repulse is sunk on first turn, landings are as programed in the game with some small changes

Any pilots that are 81+ in experience should be sent to Tracom to help speed up the training of pilots.

Thx RangerĄ

another question in a row; THE CHITOSE and CHIYODA are convertible on CVLs*

The game is tremendous; but am thinking on the war with the URSS to take control of the Sajalín island

I want the oil of the OKHA town

RangerJoe -> RE: TOŅET asking everithing about admiral edition (5/26/2019 9:41:08 PM)

Yes but as float plane cruisers they are very useful. Take one of the two float plane groups on Japanese CAs and resize them on those CSs. They can be used for search/asw with floatplanes as well as training. Or use them on Low Nav (1000 feet) to attack transports. They will do a number on small escorts including DDs before the AA gets too heavy. They can also be used for training pilots in Low Nav for Kamikazes. Just leave a base with a level 1 airfield with a certain distance of Manila or another appropriate base. Once 1944 rolls around, you will get kamikazes available. Also, the computer will send damaged subs to that base . . .

Ok..i see; sound good to me; too

geofflambert -> RE: TOŅET asking everithing about admiral edition (5/27/2019 12:11:14 AM)

I agree about resizing float plane squadrons, but you have plenty of time for that. Chitose, Chiyoda, Nisshin and Misuho can all convert to CVLs and are far more valuable in that role. You can convert a lot of ships to AVs to get more seaplane support. Remember also that you can convert Mogami to carry 11 float planes and maybe some reserves. She can do a superb job in that role.

RangerJoe -> RE: TOŅET asking everithing about admiral edition (5/27/2019 2:01:22 AM)

You can't convert the CSs to CVLs right away. Use them first to resize the extra float plane units. Then convert them to CVLs, maybe keeping just one as a CS. The can also carry float fighters which is useful in some situations.

Keep in mind that Chitose and Chiyoda are special cases. Both must be converted in Tokyo and the shipyard must be size 50 to do so. It starts at size 10 IIRC. Also those two will have their float plane units converted to CV type planes, the second two will not.

So in addition to all the HI points etc, for the conversion, it will cost another 40K supply to get the shipyard capable. Easy enough to do with the early supply situation but those supplies will be missed later.

TBH, I increase the size of some repair yards anyway. I figure I'll need them later in the game.

RangerJoe -> RE: TOŅET asking everithing about admiral edition (5/29/2019 10:55:20 PM)

It also depends upon the military considerations as well. When you sink the Big E and the Lady Lex in December 1941, even just against the computer, while your KB remains intact then you may not need the CVL conversions and as scouting cruisers, there are plenty of uses for them.

rustysi -> RE: TOŅET asking everithing about admiral edition (5/30/2019 5:37:45 PM)

Again. TBH no matter what happens early in the game I'd prefer to convert them as I know what's coming as far as Allied production. Besides as CS's their usefulness drops off later in the game.
