EpiScope42 -> Anti-Tank Units - guidance request (5/29/2019 10:52:13 PM)

I'm confused about anit-tank units. The Axis and Allies seem asymmetric with respect to capabilities, given the same level, morale, readiness and entrenchment. For example, the Axis move an anti-tank adjacent to defending units, say in North Africa or the East Front, and the counter attack odds, whether it be an Army or Tank display 7:0 or 6:0. The troops are entrenched, level 1, with good morale and readiness, >75%. An attack against the AT generally results in a loss of at least 4 points to the attack with none to the defender. With the reverse, say moving a British anti-tank unit (or Russian AT on the East Front), each level 1, then an Axis Tank unit has eliminated it 2 strikes and usually at most 3 strikes. Neither side using air. Of course, the Allied air units take damage as well. Obviously, I'm missing something and wondering if someone could provide some guidance.

Combat results highly depend on readiness, not morale. They're also influenced by the terrain.

AT-units are slow, vulnerable to inf.-attacks, don't deliver good punch against tanks and are also expensive, considering the costs for the belonging research (and its opportunity costs; you miss more valuable techs).

Except for the Russians I usually don`t care about them at all.
