LORDPrometheus -> Community question: how many planes can you have up at once? (6/4/2019 4:22:35 PM)

This is not a place to brag about your computer or put down others for theirs I am just a scenario maker who wants to know how many active planes,as in flying a mission for both sides, I can get away with for at least half of the community. I have found that much beyond 200 gets to be an issue. Although it seems that if they are not launching weapons you can get away with more.

Lots of planes......I would highly recommend that you check out the Northern Fury: H-Hour scenario. To me, it is great. It has a ton of planes, more than I have ever seen, at the start of the scenario. Fighters, bombers, CAP, and transports all in the air at the same time. It's unbelievable.

Ryan,

If you want to see a slow down have lots of aircraft in the air at the same time as a massive missile launch, say 75+ Tomahawks. The sim will keep running, but a tad slower!

Wayne- that's exactly what happens on the scenario I am working on which is an alternant future north Korean alpha strike

I've seen it in every scenario I've written that involves many missiles in the air pretty much without regard to the numbers of airborne aircraft. I figure it has to do with the sim keeping track of all the missiles and their flight characteristics - speed, location updates, etc.

It has never presented a problem except for the slowdown while they are in flight.
