When a move does not result in revealing or bumping in to an enemy unit how about an undo key? Where this would be really useful is for naval moves.

Not going to happen.
Think about it, it would enable way, way too much free scouting.

Against the AI, one can save the game before making a risky move. If the move turns out badly, one can load the save. It is not the same as an undo feature, but it will accomplish the same purpose.

Taxman, free scouting? You obviously did not read my post before replying. I wrote:

Unlimited searches by lets say a destroyer until a sub is finally “bumped” is effectively unlimited scouting. Even worse that amphibious transport would easily be discovered crossing ocean with this feature by a single unit.

BillRunacre -> RE: How About An Undo key (6/6/2019 3:59:24 PM)

We did consider this for naval units but decided for the reason crispy131313 has stated that it would be too open to abuse, therefore we restricted it to just land units.

Ok, guys thanks for the replies and it makes sense about why there isn't a undo key in regards to naval moves. I am currently playing my first PBEM game so don't know all the play mechanics. How do you undo a land move?

Taxman66 -> RE: How About An Undo key (6/6/2019 9:58:38 PM)

There is a button with a curved arrow pointing to the left.

Note you can't undo a land move if the unit uncovers FOW territory or spots an enemy unit. I don't think air units can undo moves

Undo moves is a game option, in PBEM it is set so it cannot be changed except upon setup. Personally I turn it off especially against AI, moving and checking for attack outcomes is just another way to win more against the AI.

It's good for newbies to learn when it is good (tactically) to be aggresive and when it is not.

PvtBenjamin -> RE: How About An Undo key (6/7/2019 10:56:29 AM)

I think it was Panzer Corps that had an undo function

In PBEM it was a joke and made a mockery of the gam

I do agree that bumping naval units and losing 80% of your strength should change, I just ran a BC into a sub via naval cruise. BC went from 10 to 2, common man.

LiquidAgua -> RE: How About An Undo key (6/7/2019 1:20:34 PM)

hmmm... you could do you move an unit to anywhere, and once you are fine with it (or you deselect the unit) disable the undo, reposition the unit if need, and show the enemy units that stopped the movement.

Hubert Cater -> RE: How About An Undo key (6/7/2019 4:33:40 PM)

As Bill mentioned, using an Undo unit move is only available for land units, and as others have mentioned above as well, only if you haven't revealed another unit, partially or fully under fog of war.

There are two ways to do this, one is by clicking on the undo unit move button on the lower interface panel (after a unit has moved) or by using Ctrl-Z on the keyboard.

For Subs inflicting high damage on a naval unit and especially under Naval Cruise, we would be wary to adjust this as Naval Cruise is the most vulnerable method to move your naval units, and Subs are only generally effective in an ambush situation like this as they are not really effective at all in a move and then attack scenario, as they shouldn't be. It also encourages the use of Destroyers to screen your naval movements as well.
