Was my favorite D Day scenario but 1st turn is now problematical with coastal artillery decimating transports as they move to the coast? Naval bombardment suppresses them but takes turn time which doesn't allow for invasion. Any know if this is an issue or I'm doing something dumb.

From what I understand if you move the embarked unit just one hex at a time while it's in range of any coastal artillery that sometimes the defending guns don't shoot. Try that and see what results you get.
