Uzabit -> AA-7 Apex SARH won't launch after Update to DB3000_V478 (6/16/2019 9:13:53 PM)

Hello there,

it seems that after the newest update (Build 1009.31.1 with DB3000 v478) the AA-7 Apex A and C missiles cannot be launched from Mig-23s (various different models) anymore. This happens independant of range, altitude, launch geometry and RCS of the enemy plane. The weapon allocation always shows "Weapon must detect target prior to firing".

I've checked the changes in the DB3000 v478 compared to v477:

The weapon properties have been changed to:

Anti-Air All-Aspect
Lock-On After Launch (LOAL)

Prior to the new update they were:

Anti-Air All-Aspect
Illuminate at Launch

I think this change in the DB is the cause of the problem. Can anybody confirm this (non-)behaviour?

I collaborate. The missile behavior is same. MiG clearly detected and classified target. But R-24 Apex E didn't launched because 'Weapon must detect target prior to firing'. Next launched R-73 hits target without any problem.

Looks like problem is in combination of SARH seeker type and LOAL weapon property. Other missiles with same (LOAL) property have IR seekers.

Hi Wayne,

thanks for investigating. I'd just like to add that the same situation works well with DB3000_v477 under Build 1009.31.1

So it seems to be the combination that causes the issue just like Filitch assumed.

Best,

Jonas
