I am fascinated by everything weather, especially when it is simulated in video games. Aside from that, I have been enjoying AB immensely. I haven't played games long enough to see the weather change mid-game. Is this (dynamic weather) a feature?

Thanks

Yes. The weather affects visibility and night vision device performance. The worse the weather, the higher the chance for thunderstorms, if the ‘terrain’ variable allows them. The storm move with the wind. The rain clouds (dark ones) speed up putting out terrain fires and lightning strikes can suppress units. Wind speed and direction affect smoke, illumination flares and thunder storms. Temperature affects troop fatigue, vehicle breakdowns and terrain fires. Bad ground condition hinders movement.

What we are planning (if feasible) are more visual effects (fog, rain, snow, sand storm etc.) but we are studying how to implement them without sacrificing playability (people might recall similar issues with Panthers in the Fog, for example) or performance (particularly true for solutions proposed involving raindrops etc.)

I think how the weather is handled now is great (And I'm shocked this game runs so well on my computer at all) so while I look forward to enhancements in detail, I really hope hits to performance are kept to a minimum!

I was wondering though, does the weather change mid-game, like from sunny to cloudy to storm?

It does, there is a chance. However, like in real life, it is random and takes time.
