Hello Tacitus, Some observations and tips regarding the front in Romania in DC:Barbarossa: 1. Unlike most every other East Front game, the Romanians are badly outclassed by the Soviets even on 22 June. Soviet divisions are larger, better equipped, and have equivalent or superior morale and experience. Attack only with the Germans in 11th Army. Aim to encircle by attacking vulnerable units to the flank of the Soviets. A favorite first-turn target of mine are the 2 Motorized Divisions immediately SE of 11th Army, surrounded by attacking the Tank Divisions on either flank. These divisions are not well entrenched, and can by dislodged easily. It will take 2 turns to complete the encirclement. 2. On the opening turn, switch all Romanian Armies to Sustained. The Soviets will wreck any Romanian stack caught alone (see #3 following) in Blitzkrieg. 3. Do what the Germans did historically after Stalingrad - always stack Axis Minors with German Infantry. Never stack them alone. 4. Keep 11th Army on Blitzkrieg and attack mostly (if not solely) with them. 5. Allow AGS to unhinge the Russian North and force the Soviet Odessa Front to pull back. Then advance into Bessarabia. This will begin happening when Lvov is taken, and accelerate when Proskurov falls. This should get you started. DC:B is a wonderful design and a unique take on the Barbarossa campaign. Hope this helps!
