LSTs are good for invasions since they dump 1000 tons of cargo per phase. Load a couple up with supplies for invasions so the invading troops have lots of supplies. They are also good for unloading armor on the beach, so are LCMs. The smaller ones also help the invasion forces unload from ships faster. But they are short ranged but are good for small, quick invasions against small garrisons. Also moving small units to nearby locations as well as small drops of supply. The units may suffer more disruption on those vessels but I am not sure.
