Figmo -> Everybody's Too Nice!! (6/25/2001 12:43:00 AM)

OK - I've had it. We are humans and it is our nature to "Not be nice". So I've started a new e-mail list were you can talk about Military History and Games - ALL of them. You can say what you like. If you don't like somebody - you can tell them - as long as it's within the Yahoo regulations. You can talk about ALL Miltiary History and Games. But expect others to give their opinion. The only rule I will have - which probably won't be enforced - is you set the subject to match the discussion - it's more of courtousy thing to those that don't want to read it. Come join in the fun all you need to do is send an e-mail to: MilitaryHistory-Games-subscribe@yahoogroups.com Figmo P.S. If you can't hold your own in a descussion don't bother!! :eek:

soldat31 -> (6/25/2001 12:51:00 AM)

Sounds fun! :p :p

Wild Bill -> (6/25/2001 1:03:00 AM)

Nice concept, Figmo. With you in charge, I'm sure it will be fun and well disciplined. I'll join up! Wild Bill

Thanks Wild Man - but that's the concept - NO Discipline - you don't have to be nice - say what you want as long as Yahoo doesn't shut us down. Those that can't take it should stay away!! :eek: Look forward to seeing you there!! :D Figmo

Drex -> (6/25/2001 8:10:00 AM)

What's being nice mean. does it mean giving the other guy respect and holding an open mind?

yes drex it does. what a bad concept. I am a controversial person, but I attack data not people. Sorry I guess I'll sit this one out. regards, sven

Drex -> (6/25/2001 8:32:00 AM)

Me too Sven. There are enough sites out there for ripping into each other without me having to read about it. but I wish good fortune for Figmo and hope he can hold it together. It's just that it might be a magnet for all the jerks out there looking for an excuse to exercise their need for sadistic expression.

That's Cool and thanks for the good wishes!! :D I look at it more as a place for people to vent without having to worry about getting kicked off. If we have a few flame wars - so be it - sometimes it's fun to read them without getting into them - I tend to laugh a lot during those - then again it's fun to join in too. :eek: The very sick Figmo

figmo: that was not an assault on you. Just be careful what you wish for my friend, because you might get it. To each their own just not my cup of tea.

Oh - no prob - I didn't take it that way!! Ya - I figure if it get so bad that Yahoo shuts us down - we went to far!! :D :D Figmo

DELTA32 -> (6/25/2001 9:16:00 AM)

Figmo...what a grand concept....I LIKE IT ! As you may know....I've been the bad boy of the boards several times. Geez.....my NCOERs for years...said I lacked "tact" and was "abrasive". But, when my battalion commanders needed the job done...who did they call ? Heheehehehhe....ME ! You know...if the world was made up of so many of the panty-waists I see here so often....we'd be in dire straits ! I'll be visiting your site ASAP....but, I would venture to guess I'll be getting flamed on this thread withing the next couple days. Sincerely...the Vulgar and Sexist...Delta 3-2

Huffy -> (6/25/2001 9:19:00 AM)

I do agree with some of the posts here. I love this forums site...and the people here. Most of the time I feel out matched as far as knowlage of things and battles....but....it is nice to just come here and read and post to people who are being nice to each other. If you feel you need to explore this branch of the forum...good...do it...but...please don't bring any arguments from there to this forum....I like it like it is... Take care... Huffy

Drex -> (6/25/2001 9:32:00 AM)

Sounds like a perfect site for you Dan. What it has to do with your service record is anybody's guess.

crazyivan -> (6/25/2001 10:27:00 AM)

hey delta the only reason they call you to do a tough job is there hoping you"ll get captured by the other side :D

Tombstone -> (6/25/2001 11:27:00 AM)

I like the concept of a 'rude' area for discussion. There are a lot of personal feelings associated with warfare and history. It's hard sometimes to keep them calm. I think this forum is awesome, though, for the degree of respect everyone shows for each other. This place makes me nicer.. (I hope I'm not too nice.) I already registered for your forum Figmo. I think its a good idea, but I do agree with some of the sentiments expressed earlier. That makes your concept all the more important. It's like a bar you can go to after the debate club is over... Tomo

Don Shafer -> (6/25/2001 11:32:00 PM)

Yeah, I'm with you! I'm going to start sending out "Nice people suck!" bumper stickers. I also don't like people who say what they think, and e-mail lists that allow it. So there!

Glad some of you like it!! :D For those that don't - to bad - you'll be missing all the fun!! Figmo

Stukadawg -> (6/26/2001 7:46:00 AM)

Not to be rude, but... Heh,heh, sounds like it will be a blast and the best part being (just like with radio or TV)if one doesn't enjoy it, one needs only to tune out. I've been daydreaming of a tournament site over at Yahoo set up like the league at Military Gamer. I was even thinking of little trophies made from wooden bases with a 1/285th scale GHQ Panther mounted on top for the winners. Unfortunately I'll probably never get around to it. I've been spending time making maps and trying my damnedest to finish the long campaign... ...and if that ain't the right name for it. Good Luck, \_STUKADAWG_/ P.S.: You mean Yahoo offers more than porno groups?

Hey - you should make a separate post on it and see if you can get some help - I'm sure there are lots of people here willing to help. No need for the trophies - it would cost more to send them than make them. See you on the list - bring your armour!! :D Figmo

Stukadawg -> (6/26/2001 9:59:00 AM)

Hi Figmo, Thanks, I'll post the idea of a tournament another time though. I'm tired of typing and want to get back to my campaign (just an Alt-Tab away). :D I still have the image of a little trophy with a little gold-electroplated Panther (or T-34 or Sherman or whatever) atop a nice hardwood base stuck in my head. But then again, if I go out and start buying GHQ miniatures again, I'll never leave my house. Best wishes to you and good luck with the site. \_STUKADAWG_/

Les_the_Sarge_9_1 -> (6/26/2001 10:17:00 AM)

Hmmmm wanting to indulge in a site that actually promotes foul behaviour as the norm...... Sounds like settling for lame weak american beer. I would rather hang out here on Matrix where I actually have to check my facts before stating them. The population on here is brighter than I have experienced elsewhere. 2 dimensional low forehead morons and their limited view comments just doesnt do it for me somehow either. I turfed the ASL mailing list because it had one to many low forehead morons. I prefer to debate an issue with people that actually want to debate the issue, not merely send offensive comments. So I guess I am sending a "no vote" as it were.

Figmo -> (6/26/2001 5:33:00 PM)

Les the Sarge 9-1, Actually that's not the case so far. What I'm finding is without a bunch of people jumping in crying foul everytime somebody makes a statement - the subject goes pretty well. A lot of flames are the whinners tell somebody to stop. If you just let them get it of their chest you can get to the meat of what they are saying. It's interesting - somebody says "SP3 Sucks" - everybody says "OK - So what - what's next?" Instead of getting on him and starting a war because he said what he felt - we move on. But that's OK - if you don't like the idea - that's COOL too!! Figmo
