Whelp, we’re 18 turns in (24 Dec ’41) and nothing momentous has happened as of yet. So far my opponent has been relatively cautious, the only big “off script” attack being at Mersing.

CONUS:
All quiet on the West Coast front. Absolutely no enemy activity yet. I expect his subs to make an appearance soon. I’ll have to guard against complacency here, as he could still raid or even make an invasion. He seems conservative so far, so that is unlikely, but, it could happen. I have a big convoy caravan en route from SF, LA and San Diego to my LOC and ultimately OZ (first stop & rendezvous point is Christmas Island). Lex and Sara will provide cover (Lex in en route from PH). Three big TFs with LCUs, supply & fuel, and replen will move steadily SW, peeling off ships to drop off supplies and reinforcements as they go. In particular a big group of LCUs will deliver the 8th Marine Regt, Marine Wildcats, and a mix of AA, artillery and base units. I also have two BBs in the transport TF in case any raiders get frisky.
Hawaii:
Very quiet as well. Constant cat & mouse ASW battles. According to reports I’ve gotten a fleet sub and cleared out most of the midget subs. I’ve lost a DD (4 piper) and a DMS in the battle. I’ve got Midway set up as an advanced sub base. My air groups will be on high alert for some time. He hasn’t molested Wake island beyond a few air raids on the opening days. I pulled the Wildcats off, but will have to decide what to do about the LCUs soon.
Oz/NZ/SoPac:
Very quiet here as well, Papua/New Guinea & Bismarck’s excepted. I’ve moved B-17s from the V Bomber Command to Pago Pago, Suva, Sydney (moving to Noumea), Brisbane and Townsville. They are my main early warning for this area. I will start pushing PBY’s further south over time as well.
LCUs are set up in my Perth to Townsville defensive line. Darwin is reinforced as well, though I wasn’t able to evac the Aussie brigades from SingSing. I did get a small victory in ambushing his invasion force @ Rabaul (I’d already pulled out the LCUs). Sadly, I got his TF, including a CL after they had unloaded. C’est la guerre. I’m building up defenses at Port Morsbey as well. Cebu base force arrived at PM after a narrow escape from the PI (pulled out in stormy weather just as a powerful Japanese TF arrived).
PI:
He’s quickly crushing my forces here. I opted for the traditional “iron triangle” Manila-Clark Field-Bataan. We’ll see how long they hold out. My air forces put up a decent fight, but I’ve evac’d the survivors.
DEI:
The South China Sea is his. I have subs operating there, and some search coverage from Singapore and Palembang, but that’s it. Resistance is crumbling quickly in Maylaya. The Mersing gambit cut off my attempt to evacuate south. We’ll see how long SingSing holds out. Borneo and Java are as ready as they can be. I’ve been pushing out as much fuel and supply as I can. A powerful CV group (see screen shot) paraded back and forth along the Java Sea, sinking quite a few AKs etc. Most of the bigger ships had already cleared out. None of the Dutch bombers would engage, which I suppose shows a reasonable sense of self-preservation on their part (they did have some escorts, but . . ).
Burma:
He’s captured Tavoy, and is moving towards Moulmein. I’m digging in along Moulmein – Pegu line. He hasn’t touched Rangoon yet, so I’m moving as much supply and reinforcements in as I can while the quiet time lasts.
India:
All quiet. I have some PBYs in Columbo for AEW in case he gets frisky here. Reinforcing and covering the crucial Karachi supply line. I’ve also transferred a number of Chinese air groups to Delhi for training.
China:
Puts and takes here. I’ve had a few successful counter attacks, but as expected he’s slowly grinding me back. I’ve used the Alfred advice on China and have set up key defensive points, and will disrupt his LOC as much as possible. I’ve begun moving some LCUs into India.
Here is the position of what I'll call KB1. It passed through my sub "cordon" twice. Arrgh! A 2nd "KB" was sighted 3 days ago in the deep water hex N. of Cagyan. I had a sub in the hex, but it did not attack. [:@]
