Tankertwo -> War in Russia (9/9/2019 1:13:32 PM)

After more than a year I am back. I have retired and opened Grd’s daycare for my two grandkids.
I made many changes then set the game aside for awhile to offset burnout. Some of the things I added include higher movement rates and more obstacles such as mine fields, a weak Stalin Line are just a few.
I am now on turn 6, first half of September, I am more on line with the historical timeline.
In the north Leningrad is now cut off but my armor must sit till I can move up more foot units.
The center hasn’t been completed yet as I debate whether to move on Tula this turn. I need to capture Kursk as well and again i need the slower infantry to catch up be for an push on Moscow.
The south has hit some resistance outside of Kharkov. Odessa and Kiev-should/ fall this turn freeing up some much needed units. The Crimea is mine but Sevastapol still stands.
In general the Russian has been much more aggressive. The German Army is in worse shape at this time than the same time in my the last game. Replacement have not kept up with losses. I have one more good weather turn till October, turn 8 is a bad weather, turn 9 is good then winter will set in.
This leaves me wondering how far to stick my neck out. Attack now or wait till spring!

Turn 11 Dec. 41. AGN has broken the outer defenses of Leningrad. Debating to move on the city or wait till spring.
AGM took Moscow just before winter set in. Need to move panzers south for summer campaign.
AGS is just outside Kursk in the north and Rostov in the south. Rather a large bulge. Have not attacked Sevastopol as yet but the heavy artillery just arrived.
The Germans have taken a lot more hits this time but the Russians are still not very aggressive yet but t plan to continue though the winter
Some partisan activities going on but I will put more in to close down road and rail movement.

Turn 18 May 1st 1942. North to South, broken into Leningrad fortification should fall sometime this summer. Build up of Russian forces south of
Demyansk but no aggression yet. Holding Moscow, no counterattacks yet. Large Guards units north of Voronezh and the city should fall this turn.
AGS has started to advance on Stalingrad and the Kerch peninsula from the east south of Adobe. Sevastopol is ready to fall as well.
If I had programmed the Russians better they would have taken advantage of the German weakness during the winter. Now I have a large number of reinforcements coming into the game. I will continue till the Russians come alive or surrender.

Have you got it tweaked to the point where you think its ready to upload?

And congratulations on retirement (and your day care!) At least you won't have to worry about grandkids flipping your game board off the table with this game!

As I play this game I improved a copy. I now believe I have a working 2 player game, the German has freedom of movement, the Russian is far more restrictive to narrow channels. A whole front approach you might say
Now the problem is I don’t have access to my work computer. I am using my phone for the forum and not able to access Dropbox. I have always been less than expert at the computer if anyone has a idea let me know.
I could down load it on a stick and snail mail it I suppose.
Just started turn 19 will report soon.
Started a new map for June of 1944 for Dday and operation Bagration. Rather than starting with the German deployment I started with placing the Russians and trying the AI as I go, seems to be working with the improvements I made with the last game. Makes me want to start the improved game.

I'm afraid I'm not much help here. zipping and uploading here is what I've seen done in the past, but it doesnt always work if file is too large.
