I've sent Grossdeutschland Regiment back home in december 41 - assigned to and sitting right on top of OKH. It's july 42 and from the TOE it should have become GD Division in turn 46. It's now turn 56 - and still no upgrade. What am I missing ? The only reason I can imagine is the necessary equipment - eg number of tanks in my pool such as Pz IVg

What you are experiencing is very common indeed. I had a game where it did not upgrade until turn 60 something.

I suppose worth remembering that the turn listed for its upgrade is the earliest date it can upgrade, not the most likely one.

There are various ways in which may be it can be accelerated. But that only alters the odds - one way or another you may have to wait many turns for it to happen.

Refit mode should increase the chance to get the OB upgrade although 10 turns delay seems very long for the Axis side, that's more common for the soviet side.

With every turn the chance grows. Must be unlucky rolls. That's frustrating if you focus only on one unit.

There are even longer delays, I'm currently on turn 61 and GD has not upgraded yet. 15 week delay to get the upgrade is quite frustrating but I was also guessing that the reason the upgrade hasn't happened yet is because I lack enough tanks in the pool. Thanks for the answers, let's hope we get a lucky roll soon!

Ob upgrade does not depend on available equipment, it's just a new equipment list

That's really interesting. Are unit upgrade dates totally random or is there some hidden formula behind it ? Because the necessary equipment for an GD upgrade was there a couple of turns ago.

When proper date is reached, upgrade is random with some modifiers, that grow over time. Simple as that.
