hedotwo -> new computer, no cd drive (9/28/2019 3:35:51 AM)

So, I bought a new laptop and would like to install my WITPAE game on it, but I have only USB drives, no cd/dvd. I have my original boxed CD w/serial number but I'm at a loss as to how I can install it. I tried copying the Matrix folder from my old laptop and installing it on the new one, but I get the fatal error 200 when I start the game from the folder.

Is it possible to get a digital download from the store if I have my original key number?

Thanks!

Copying doesn't work.  The game has to be first installed to set up the registry entries correctly.  Once that is done, then you can copy the files.

Purchasing a hard copy of the game should also get you access to the digital download.  You will need to have the game purchase registered with Matrix.

You can download games and patches/updates from the Member's Area provided they are registered to the account. Please see the forum post below which explains how to do this:

You can get a remote drive that plugs into a USB port when needed. You'd only need it for the install but those CDs are still handy. When the drive dies you just get a new one, the data on the CD doesn't die with the drive.

Not necessarily for the better.

Remember when all the buzz was that vinyl records were so passé and CDs were the future. Someone forgot to pass the memo to those who today are pressing new vinyl records and manufacturing analogue record turntables.

Vinyl is most permanent recording media we currently have.

Providing you never play what's on it. Every time the needle rubs over the grooves a little more of the quality is eroded.

The Matrix/Slitherine Tech Support is pretty good with issues like this - that would be my first stop: https://www.matrixgames.com/contacts

Thanks, but that's where I cant log in to.
(When I click on the link, it asks for the username/pass
and mine wont work there)

Well, if I would have looked a few lines below I would have seen the message format to contact them.
Thanks
