Having watched a few videos and read on the forums I'm curious about replayability. Most who play probably prefer the 1939 scenario and if playing against the AI it seems it's preferred to play as the Axis. That seems to limit replayability. Am I missing something?
Each time I played and each time the beta testers played new strategies and concepts were invented. New ways to do things. The A.I. has 11 different experience levels and 4 different supply levels. There is even an Ubermensch level which would be impressive if anyone beat.
But the most fun in these kind of games is PBEM for sure. WarPlan uses Matrix's PBEM system.
I have "re-played" the 1939, 1941 and 1943 scenario's so many times it not funny, and its not old.
Currently started up a 1939 vs the AI and cranked the AI all the way up, took me 3 turns to take Poland, but it was a tough 3 turns. I mostly play PBEM++.
I have playtested several games now and finished one and I find the AI changes tactics several times. They have even attacked vichy as well as spain as axis and as allies attacked narvik and souther france in 43. It seems a lot of possible ways to play this game. So far I really like it.
