Scorpion86 -> [Resolved] AGM-65 re-attack? (10/31/2019 1:49:20 AM)

When I was playtesting my own scenario, I came upon an interesting bug.
Here's the sequence of events:
1 - My A-7Ps are on an attack run against a Kiev-class carrier and a Krivak II frigate. They are carrying AGM-65Bs. I order them to attack both ships automaticly (F1).
2 - They fire the Mavericks, splitting them equally between the two ships. The first few Mavericks outright sink the Krivak.
3 - After the Krivak sinks, the one AGM-65 still in the air heading for it, overshoots it, turns 180º and heads towards the Kiev.

I found it odd because AFAIK, the Maverick has no re-attack capability, it's a simple homing missile.
As soon as I noticed the bug, I paused the simulation and saved the autosaves. The 20-second autosave is just before all missiles are fired. The named save is just after the missile turns towards the Kiev.

Enjoy that bug-stomping!

Thanks! Logged, and we'll look into it when we can.

What was happening here was the AGM was getting its target cleared (because it had been destroyed) and switching to the Kiev instead of just going terminal to the location of the original target. After the weapon achieved a certain separation from the launching aircraft it would realize it wasn't aimed properly and correct onto the target (which it shouldn't be able to do either at that angle.)

I've investigated this issue and it doesn't occur under the current build of the game. If the AGM target is destroyed or vanishes it just hits wherever the target used to be.
