That to me is when you cross the difficult boundary when programming the game, in reality when faced with impending doom, i would imagine that most of the crews would have taken the shot anyway and hoped for the best, risking blowing themselves up in the process but taking out the enemy who was about to kill them anyway. But if you programmed the game to allow for these shots to be taken all the time, people would cry "my unit blew itself up this game is so dumb!". The alternative is to program it in and involve a probability calculation based on the distance from the explosion as to how badly they would be hurt. But you may still get the same feedback. If their was a caluclation ran their could be an exception included that if unit is outwith 30% chance of self-harm, shot fires... though we could be here for a while [:D] Changing the message/audio when too close from "No clear shot" to "We are too close" would stop people thinking its a bug though for a quicker solution.
