Michael7619 -> [RESOLVED] Crashing on Menu (11/14/2019 7:43:55 PM)

Hi

Bought CMO from Matrix. When i get to menu it crashes in 4-10 seconds every time. So i cant get to game only to menu. I have CMANO+Chains of war (from Matrix too) wich i have uninstalled earlier. Is it possible that some parts of cmano werent deleted right and there is some kind of conflict there wich is causing crashes?

Nvidia driver is updated to 441.20. Computer specs are Ryzen 7 2700X, 1070 Gtx and 16gb memory.

Would be grateful for any ideas?

Thank you

Uninstalled. Downloaded again. Installed again. Same problems. Few times been able to go to quick battle and even play a short time before it crashes.

a report and log file may help

https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=3416272

game needs to be installed and run as admin

Michael7619 -> RE: Crashing on Menu (11/15/2019 7:29:21 AM)

Ok. I will uninstall it and reinstall it as admin. If after that there are same crashes i will post report and log files. Thanks.

good luck, and also remember to reboot the pc after the uninstall, so nothing is left in memory to / cache to effect the reinstall, i'd also make sure the folders have been deleted also just to be sure

Michael7619 -> RE: Crashing on Menu (11/15/2019 7:47:00 AM)

Thank you for helping me. Deleted what was left in folders, restarted and now installing.

zakblood -> RE: Crashing on Menu (11/15/2019 7:51:46 AM)

glad your sorted and can now enjoy the game[;)]

Michael7619 -> RE: Crashing on Menu (11/15/2019 8:50:37 AM)

Followed instructions. Crashes still. Adding logfile. Do you need any other files?

zakblood -> RE: Crashing on Menu (11/15/2019 8:53:17 AM)

will make sure the developers see it, as they will have a better understanding on it than me, thanks and sorry for the issue

Michael7619 -> RE: Crashing on Menu (11/15/2019 8:58:07 AM)

Thanks for your help.

Dimitris -> RE: Crashing on Menu (11/15/2019 9:01:08 AM)

Hello,

When you say it crashes, you mean the main window just disappears without showing anything, or is there any error message displayed? Thanks.

Michael7619 -> RE: Crashing on Menu (11/15/2019 9:06:46 AM)

Hi

It launches to menu. Then crashes and window just disappears without showing anything. No error messages or anything.

zakblood -> RE: Crashing on Menu (11/15/2019 9:18:28 AM)

have you tried running the prerequisites again?

or checked your AV logs to see if it's blocked anything from running?

maybe would be a good idea to also upload a report now as well to maybe look a bit deeper, thanks

information on how to is in my first post link

can you disable MSI Afterburner's tools / programs on startup and then reboot and recheck to see if it works without that program running?

thanks

Michael7619 -> RE: Crashing on Menu (11/15/2019 10:33:06 AM)

Uninstalled MSI Afterburner. Problem continued after that. Uninstalled Visual C++ 2015-2019 and then run repair on Visual C++ 2015 and now i am in the game. I think there was some kind of problem.
I am playing the game now (10 minutes and no crash) and will report if crashing continues. Hopefully that was it. Very much thank you both Zakblood and Dimitris.

zakblood -> RE: Crashing on Menu (11/15/2019 10:35:25 AM)

MSI Afterburner is a known problem with many games, and as it was mentioned in your report in every crash, running without it, should now hopefully fix the issue for good, unless something else is also in the mix on startup that the game doesn't like to run with, it happens, and glad your finally sorted, fingers crossed it carries on the same

Out of curiosity, where in that log is MSI's crapware listed?

zakblood -> RE: Crashing on Menu (11/15/2019 11:45:31 AM)

not in the log,.

in the windows error report at the bottom on the page,

---------------
Diagnostics
---------------

below, gives the causes of the error with a number, gets overwritten, but always show a given amount of the last so many faults and issues, then i just google the code number and see what caused the error
