Vonrich -> RE: Victory conditions (11/15/2019 2:30:58 PM)

I just finished a game on historical settings and played exactly that way. I ignored the UK entirely and instead focused on taking Africa east of Tripoli, the middle east, the Balkans, and then the USSR. It turns out that all Allied pacific resources are in the Persian Gulf, so I was able to take a chunk of their resources and was never challenged on it...just one Italian armor corps defending it. Azerbaijan was surprisingly difficult to take due to partisans in Iraq and Iran. I ended up needing to take the Caucasus from the north and then link up with my three armor and mech corps that came up through Iran. It did distract several units from the defense of Stalingrad though, making that a relatively easy battle. I held Tripoli from the Allies with 3 rotating elite infantry corps. By 1944 I had taken Spain through diplomacy, then invaded Gibraltar, crossed straits and pincered from Tripoli. Simultaneously, I took Vichy France and Portugal. The only mainland VP that I didn't take was Stockholm. That was mainly due to the war panel bugging out after I took Portugal and not being functional for the rest of the game. In the end, it was an overwhelming victory. The Allies landed in France twice but were pushed back into the sea.
