Primarchx -> [Logged] BVR Logic (11/15/2019 10:56:26 PM)

Can we get an option to select no BVR logic for a human player side? I'd like to be able to decide the geometry aircraft take when using SARH shots. Thanks!

Can't you use WRA for that? I do that all the time for both human and AI so they don't fire until a little closer.

WRA can determine at what point, against what and how many weapons you release. They don't cover Doctrines, which for BVR engagement has three methods involving cranking, straight in shots, etc. When you fire an SARH weapon a/c become fixed to these doctrines and other than probably Maneuvering Defensive, won't leave them.

I second this.

This can be very useful when for instance you have incoming BVR missiles while at the same time illuminating/giving midpoint guidance updates to your own BVR missiles and your a/c happens to be close to a coastline. Then you want to be able to crank towards the ocean and not towards land as to get the sea skimmer modifier when/if it comes to the endgame calculations for the enemy missiles.

"Can we get an option to select no BVR logic for a human player side?"

I am still a little confused on this. Can't you use those three doctrine settings for BVR by side/flight/aircraft? What would no logic do? Is the issue that you can't override the three settings?

LargeDiameterBomb -> RE: BVR Logic (11/18/2019 3:40:00 AM)

For me the issue was that the aircraft illuminating would crank to whatever side the AI logic decided to even when doctrine was set to Follow missile straight in and Ignore plotted course when attacking: No which was how I could get an aircraft to follow my own set course for it and not crank by itself in CMANO.

Since i wrote the last post I realize that this problem only occured at two occasion in my favorite scenario which is very small and with little air to air action which I played first immediately when I had bought the game. I haven't encountered it since in other scenarios with more air to air action so it seems to work as I want it to for my part by now.

HaughtKarl -> RE: BVR Logic (11/18/2019 1:49:34 PM)

How about trying this for manual BVR.

1. Unassign the shooting aircraft from it's patrol mission
2. Set automatic evasion to NO
3. Control F1 to fire your SARH
4. F3 to set a course and click and drag that course to steer your aircraft as desired

Thanks! Logged, and we'll see what we can do.

Dimitris -> RE: BVR Logic (11/15/2020 11:38:41 AM)

Is this not already possible, by disabling "ignore plotted course when attacking" and also disabling auto-evasion ?
