I found in the game that under the circumstances of supply lines and high morale, the combat units are cut off in the same round due to the way of retreat. There may be two situations: surrender or routed. What's the reason?

Let me take a screenshot for example. In this case, the panzer division marked by the red circle will not be routed, but will surrender directly.

But if I don't attack the motorized infantry division marked in the yellow circle and directly attack the panzer division marked in the red circle, then this panzer division will never surrender, but can only be routed.

How far is 10 Panzer from supply source? (Check supply details for 10 Panzer in German turn save if you can, as counting hexes might not be same as supply path distance). In 12.02, any unit over 25 hexes from rail is isolated in supply status, and can be surrendered. This is a bug that should be fixed in 12.03 from what I understand.

Distance to supply might not be issue. There are also many revisions to retreat pathing and battle results in v12.0x and Morvael has been fixing bugs there as well. The surrender might be due to no rout path free of enemy units, though in v11.03 and earlier that alone was not sufficient to cause a surrender.

It is a bug in the new patch and AFAIK it is being worked on. The general advice currently is to stay away from the new game version for competitive matches as you will experience such bugs.

The panzer division is not far from the supply line and is not isolated. I've tried many times. The "switch" of whether or not the panzer division surrenders seems to have a little bit to do with the state of nearby friendly troops.

Thank you for your answer, although my game has been on 1.12.02 for some time. I will try my best to avoid this happening again. I also hope that the production team can make a new patch package in time to fix this bug. Thank you.

If you have saves I can examine them. But I think the reason is as follows: there is a limit of MP that can be expended during retreat/rout move. In case of a shorter retreat path unit will rout, in case it cannot, it will surrender. I will look at the MP limit of rout move. Possibly it should be made higher.

Sorry for being less active now, as the autumn weather kicked in (early September), I almost immediately became ill, and it lasted for two full months. I didn't want to overtax myself, so it would not turn into something worse like last year. I'm OK now, but who knows how long it will last? It's not spring yet.

I know I still have that 1.12.03 to finish.
