NativeTexan -> Are Naval Fleets intercepting invasions? (11/18/2019 4:16:56 AM)

I may be missing a setting but in a PBEM game I've had fleets sit in port while a naval invasion occurred in the adjacent beach hex.

Is there a setting on the fleet that I am missing?

Good question. I just had 20 strength UK sunk leaving Dunkirk with three RAF fighter groups on the coast and I cant tell if they lifted a finger. land unit loss at sea is an all or nothing deal? I can't recall too many corps size troop ship losses but then maybe the real admirals weren't as careless as I was. Cant seem to assign aircover.

Fleets in port do not intercept. The fleet has to be at sea, in fleet mode. The intercept may occur if the enemy fleet ends its movement within the intercepting fleet's patrol range.

Air units have to be in support mode to intercept.

Thanks Alvaro. I saw another player mention that and checked: two were in support and one in mission. The whole transport all 30 points went bye bye> what was that 45,000 to 75,000 men in WarPlane game scale. I think I'm court martialed. Even sitting off Dunkirk fully stopped to load 300,000 plus under RAF cover and Goering boasting stop the panzers the Lutwaffe will finish them they didn't manage that outcome. Oh well is there a script to court martial me. Are there admirals or air generals? I could sacrifice one them instead of myself.
