Mini_Von -> Converting 3D Model (11/18/2019 4:04:00 PM)

I am trying to convert and import a few 3d models from sketchup into tacview.

I downloaded a few models and removed their textures and landing gear and then exported the model to an .obj file. I moved the file to C:\Matrix Games\Command Modern Operations\Resources\Tacview\Data\Meshes. I edited the excel file to point to the new model. I keep getting a square box when model is viewed in tacview.

I'm assuming that the file is not being converted to an .obj file correctly. Any ideas on how to make this work?

Thanks,

***Solved***

The file name is case sensitive. FixedWing.U-2.obj

I did it! Here is a U-2 that was downloaded off the internet and successfully imported into tacview.

I had to resize the drawing and rotate it so the nose was pointing forward. I exported it from sketchup using the "triangulate all faces" option.
