Boy oh boy this game up in a review by a beta tester in July. I interviewed a British historian once and he said the Royal Navy destroyer commanders were ready to go regardless of how many planes the Luftwaffe over the Channel. At Dunkirk they got six RN DDs and they had to sit still while loading troops. The game is making a trade off in phasing turns or something in both naval and air interception. U boats don't have this problem because they can just squat on the convoy lanes although eventually Enigma decrypts chipped away at this. WW@ The developer seems skeptical of naval interception. Perhaps well the Manual says at page 92 "At the start of every turn reconnaissance levels are calculated for the map. The level of reconnaissance is higher closer to land a player controls and lower the farther away the hex is from land controlled. Players must find enemy naval units at sea to engage them in combat and identify their composition. Different modifiers affect the reconnaissance level of the hex which affects how often they are spotted." We don't see this happen. Perhaps recon levels could be displayed like supply levels and could be influenced by placing aircraft, airfields, tech levels. The game is thinking of covering PTO and long range very long range flying boats, submarines, coast watchers, carrier AC all played their part. I don't see how the Germans could assemble the landing craft without the RAF and RN spotting it. Under "Hitler weather.: the Allies didn't let any recon flights over the UK. Also, I'm not sure that Recon level equates to intercept probability.
