Has anyone played the 1941-45 Campaign against the Soviet AI?

I guess so!

What is, usually, the AI strategy in the winter of 1942 and later?

In my game the AI seems to be completely passive, reducing to accumulate divisions in rows ...

boring and frustrating ...

regards

I have done it - but long time ago. Usually boring and frustrating = need to move on to playing other people.

At least while I did it the solution was new challenges. Get to the Volga or the Caspian sooner etc. But will mean you are best playing the blizzard turns against a Soviet AI quickly.

I noticed two other embarrassing limits about the AI behavior.

The first one: the AI tends to disperse its units far beyond the command range of the related HQs.
A quick look at the general deployment detects the mixture of units of different HQs, many of them overstretched.

The second one: the AI does not take into account the Command Capacity of the HQs, which are often overcharged, 3 or 4 times their capacity.
This is also due to the excess production of combat units compared to HQs.

I thought that at least these two basic rules were the basis of AI logic ...[:(]

Most of the strange and passive behaviour of the AI, despite the hundreds of combat Corps produced and deployed, could be linked to these basic defaults.

I really hope that these issues will be overcome in WitE2

Think AI doesn't play by same rules as us peeps.

I would like to know, from the developers, what's the logic of the Soviet AI in the 1941-45 Campaign.

The AI begins, in the 41'summer/fall with a totally defensive posture, withdrawing and entrenching in depth; not completely historical, but acceptable.

Then, from Nov.'41 to Feb.'42, AI launches an all-out offensive. OK.

BUT, from March 1942 onwards, ... nothing. Completely passive, for months and years.

Has AI been programmed only for the period up to the first Soviet winter counteroffensive?

thanks in advance

regards
