davidoux -> [Fixed] changing contact manually from neutral to hostile not saved ? (12/2/2019 2:01:47 PM)

Hello,

i manually flagged some contact from hostile to neutral (civilian contatcs that were flagged as hostile),
but after save and load, these contact were back to hostile, i dont know if it is a bug or unless this would be considered
as meta graphical data ..
thanks

David

edit : error in title

This is something that happens to me too. Sometimes natural contacts like fish etc get flagged as hostile - they then ALL get flagged as hostile. I normally solve this by editing the scenario and changing the posture in the editor. but as a feature request could we add the ability to change posture globally when NOT in the editor ?

Hello serjames, what makes it even worse is that it seems save does not work for this status (this is the topic of this tech support entry),
whenever i change it to neutral or friendly, save, reload, statuses are back to hostile,
i honestly dont understand why is this collective behaviour set (i checked some scenario at random and they are all like this ! )

Thanks for the suggestion guys, the ability for a player to clear a side's posture status does seem like it would be useful.

As for the postures not being saved with savegames, can you please provide a savegame for this? I know that sounds funny, but it allows us to try to reproduce the issue with as few variables as possible and helps us identify any issues more quickly.

Hello apache85, thanks for commenting on that issue,

I created a similar thread to discuss the behaviour and not the save issue :
https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=4726925&mpage=1&key=

and uploaded the save here (note: for some reason i cannot download it and upload it in this post it says that "i can't donwload because I have less than 255 posts ???!! )

REPRO :
After pressing O, locate all civilians and change them to "neutral" one by one
(there are 6 contacts to change otherwise you will loose instantly as my fighters will shoot them)
then save and load again and you will see the bug.
Please notice also that during this mission i entered a civilian entry in the target list of the intercept mission,
i remove it later but maybe that's worth pointing out

But that's not all, I would like to point out another strange behaviour :
the f35 "ADIR-2" will be locked and circling around the Cessna 500 citation altought he is assigned to an intercept mission on HVT ! the workaround i found is to "disengage him" manually

To summarize up several odd behaviour :
1. contact status when changed manually is not serialized in the save game
2. Civilian contacts are flagged as hostile and i dont know why, my workaround i to change manually the status but 1. makes it unpractical if i need to save and load the game later
3. After changing the contact to neutral, fighters already engaged with these contact (ADIR2 in this save) will circle around it and never disengage unless instructed manually

Thanks for the save and repro instructions, much appreciated!

This is fixed for the next update. A contact's manual stance setting will be saved and reloaded correctly.
