I saw this on sale and was wondering if it was worth getting this 10 yr old game.

Thank you

Yes,

But only if you really want to own and play the best strategic Pacific wargame ever designed.
Maybe the best wargame ever designed period.

The game is better now than when it was first released.

Better now than it has ever been.

Yes.

This year I bought "Darklands" ( Microprose, 1992) game from GOG. "Darklands" is one of the best CRPGs ever albeit with rudimentary graphics.

This November the game was removed from the GOG online catalogue. [:-]

Buy WITP:AE before the Matrix shuts it down!

+1 to Trugrit. IMO its the best game ever created. That should be the case for anybody who enjoys a complex strategic game set in the Pacific Ocean, Indian Ocean, Asia, Arctic, North America, South America, Oceania, and parts of Europe and Africa. For those who don't have time or who don't love detail (IE, micromanagement) it'll be a drudge. For the small percentage of people into this thing, it's sublime, and playing it is the avocational equivalent of being addicted to crack.

For its current price its worth it if you only play the scenarios and don't get into the campaign game.

TBH though the campaign game is where its at.

@nycoroner05...definatly yes it's worth buying. I just got it and it's a lot to digest but the potential that awaits once I get a handle on it is incredible!!

Yes, but you need a lot of dead time to play it.

I have hardly touched another game since the release of this "time vampyre of a game".

I should have a few million years after I am dead to play this game - I don't expect to be raptured away or for anyone to want to be reincarnated as me, so I can play in peace! [:D]

I can relate to that!

Timeless game. Solid interface that stands the test of time, lively forum and very active mod community.

If you love detailed strategy games, this is a must have. If you're an old board gamer like some of. us...think AH's Third Reich or the Europa series by GDW, etc..

If you're looking to shot zombies in the face and have a 30 minute game attention span, you'll be disappointed.

Hope to see you on the forum boards...
