SchDerGrosse -> Difficulty setting against the Soviet AI (without making the game silly..) (12/28/2019 12:14:09 PM)

Fellow Forumites, Has any of you found the "sweatspot-difficulty settings” for playing against the Soviet AI in the 41-45 GC? I ‘am an OK player and more or less know the game mechanics and love to micromanage stuff. This sadly enables me to squarely beat the AI on hard before the onset of the first winter, meaning the computer has just lost so much stuff due to encirclements that only empty units pop up which the Soviets are unable to fill up with equipment (haven’t tried enabling the “Soviet combat bonus” – dunno if I should and/or it would be enough). I have NEVER gotten to the actual winter and blizzard stuff cause I figured it would be a waste of my time and I would be in Vladivostok in ’42 anyways.. I know that if someone wants a real challenge the logical way would be to find a human opponent but due to my busy schedule, that is unfortunately not an option for me. What I’am looking for is a difficulty setting that enables the AI to survive the first year and possibly beat me on the long run WITHOUT making the game silly (such as NKVD border units single handedly beating back the GD Pz. Division etc.). As previously said, I’am completely OK with losing if it’s not a ROFLSTOMP and does not turn this brilliant game into a sci-fi. Alternatively, I’am also open to suggestions regarding other possible campaigns (I have all the DLCs). Tried the ’42 Stalingrad and the ’43 Kursk ones but it seems that AI is not really programmed to deal with the later scenarios. Another thing, apart from “no HQ buildup” I would really like to avoid any other self-imposed rules of play if possible. If any of you have found some interesting difficulty settings (and/or campaign scenario) on which the game is enjoyable against the Soviet AI I kindly ask you to share it with me. [&o] Best regards,
