Just learning the game. Looks like all units default with truck supply highlighted. Does that mean every unit is getting that efficiency and supply bonus? That doesn't seem right, since I only have a limited amount of supply trucks. And un-highlighting the truck icon seems to decrease the number of trucks available. It appears that un-highlighting the truck icon is how you assign a supply truck to a unit? Seems very non-intuitive, so I'm confused, please un-confuse me.

Truck supply is limited. You can buy it. Consider it extra supplies.

When you use a truck supply on a unit it increases its effectiveness.
When you use it on an HQ it does the same for all land and air units within a 6 hex radius not including HQs

Every unit has an efficiency rating. (looks a little like 2 gears) At the start that will be close to 100%. However as you move and fight the efficiency will drop.

When a unit is in supply it will slowly gain efficiency. However you can consume a supply truck to more quickly bring that back up.

It is a core game mechanic that should be used all the time. So ideally you want to have units boost with a truck any time you are planning to attack with them. Not every single time of course, but key battles and especially air units.

Ok, my question is not being understood. How, exactly, do you make a unit use/consume a supply truck?? I'm playing Germany. I would think by selecting the unit and highlighting the truck icon. HOWEVER, the truck icon is already highlighted on all my units. By default. Does turning OFF the highlight cause the unit to consume truck supply?

The truck supply icon for the unit will not be highlighted if you can't use truck supply for that unit. If it is highlighted you can use it, by clicking on that icon. The highlight should then go off.

Units are not in extra truck supply by default.

Thank you, that makes a little more sense. I can't help but notice that the button works exactly opposite than the "Embark" or rail button--the Embark/Rail button is not highlighted until the unit is actually embarked. In contrast, the truck icon is highlighted when the unit is NOT receiving truck supply, then you click on it to receive the supply and the highlight goes off. Easy enough to remember, but not intuitive.
