AbsntMndedProf -> Italian 210mm Mortar Weight? (7/13/2003 7:22:54 AM)

I was scanning through the Italian section of the SP:WaW encyclopedia, and noticed that the weight listed for the Italian 210mm Mortar is '15'. What is the correct weight for this weapon? Thanks! (Having done data entry, myself, I know such typos have a way of getting through, no matter how carefully the input is double-checked.):)

Well, it's an on-map mortar unit and they all seem to have their weight the same as their crew amount.
So compared to others it's not a bug, but looking at it's picture this is an old siege mortar type thing and imho might need a 2xx weight so you can't move that monster very easily.

It weighed 16tons about.

That sounds about right considering there are three of them in a unit. (Which adds up to 48 tons per 210mm mortar unit.) Thanks for giving us the weight of the mortar, Resisti!

It would certainly give the enemy reason for concern to see three of these and their crews parachuting out of a plane behind their lines! :)

I'm not sure if the sight of a 16-ton mortar attached to a 'chute would scare anyone except those underneath it. A 16-ton weight would need a 'chute of several square miles in size & made of something a lot stronger than regular 'chutes.

Perhaps an Italian kamikaze weapon?
