I also commented about riverbanks in other post. http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/fb.asp?m=4734993 Riverbanks are usually regarded as very good defensive position to infantry and vehicles. Vehicles can be in hulldown behind such riverbanks. Problem is, map height data usually doesn't capture riverbank's geometry unless such riverbank / riverdikes are huge and tall. Or probably a height data resolution problem. As a result, height map is neglecting such riverbank or road embankment. I guess it might be needed to be added by map designer. But I think that would be very tough. Yet, if we have such terrain tiles, that would be useful. Typically such riverbanks and riverdikes are came with road on top. Maybe a new road tile set? Create the same sets of road tiles with current road tiles, but ones with embankments. Then, give 1m ~ 3m height than surroundings, good cover and/or high relief value, and good maneuverability for infantry and tanks. For non-road river bank, then just give a river bank tile with same cover and relief but moderate or poor tank / infantry maneuverability. At the same time, water tile with such riverbank would be great too. PS) If the 1~3m height is too micro to describe in this game, then how about just implementing higher cover / relief value to such "embankment / road embankment / riverbanks" tiles? I think concealment would be low.
