Adding new terrain such as rice paddy is good news to see very necessary items to this game.
One of the most important and maybe forgotten title for armored brigade is embankment terrain which is used by modern army on that time era for providing solid defensive line for armored or infantry units.

I think this tile is most necessary for future update to include in game as we seen dug in position in defense phase or created barbed wire which can be purchase in setup phase before battle.

But if you hope a bigger wish, it can be created by engineer units during action phase of game.

Riverbanks are usually regarded as very good defensive position to infantry and vehicles. Vehicles can be in hulldown behind such riverbanks.

Problem is, map height data usually doesn't capture riverbank's geometry unless such riverbank / riverdikes are huge and tall. Or probably a height data resolution problem. As a result, height map is neglecting such riverbank or road embankment. I guess it might be needed to be added by map designer. But I think that would be very tough.

Yet, if we have such terrain tiles, that would be useful.

Typically such riverbanks and riverdikes are came with road on top. Maybe a new road tile set? Create the same sets of road tiles with current road tiles, but ones with embankments. Then, give 1m ~ 3m height than surroundings, good cover and/or high relief value, and good maneuverability for infantry and tanks.

For non-road river bank, then just give a river bank tile with same cover and relief but moderate or poor tank / infantry maneuverability.

At the same time, water tile with such riverbank would be great too.


PS) If the 1~3m height is too micro to describe in this game, then how about just implementing higher cover / relief value to such "embankment / road embankment / riverbanks" tiles? I think concealment would be low.

Currently the paved roads have a higher 'relief' value than plain ground so the vehicles have a better chance of entering the hull-down state. Streams have an even higher value than paved roads.

Would it be possible to increase relief a little bit more for roads?

Also, would it be possible to increase relief value of any plain or other tiles for boundary of water tiles?

Also, (I think it might be impossible) would it be possible to make decision of 'hulldown' in direction only parpendicular to road direction?
