FrankGallagher -> Tobruk and supply--Newbie question (1/20/2020 7:18:01 PM)

So my all-Italian offensive into Egypt starts off fine (vs. AI) until my troops stop regaining effectiveness. I check and sure enough, Tobruk shows 0 supply stockpiles.

Could maybe someone please save me a lot of trial and error here? Is the Brit Air and subs in Malta the problem? Where do I station my own assets to counter them? Thanks in advance.

This thread has a helpful chart I put together. Remember The further you get from port the more it costs per strength point to supply a unit.

So a 30 strength infantry units costs 1 supply per strength point between 1-10 hexes, 1.33 supply per strength point between 11-20 hexes, and 2 supply per strength point between 21-30 hexes. Units that consume oil cost quite a bit more.

There is only enough supply for about 3 full 30 strength infantry corps and an HQ once you get beyond 10 hexes from Bengazi. Even then periodic port attacks by the allies will reduce your stockpiles enough that even that small force isn't all in supply at times. Build lots of supply trucks to give you the ability to raise effectiveness a bit in turns your supplies get interdicted.

All good, and I appreciate it. But shouldn't the info panel for the Tobruk space show some non-zero level of supply stockpile? It reads zero atm.

Or invade another location putting pressure on the UK
