It gets written out when you open the save. A little more detail for you... If you use the -archive switch then all the reports get stored in the /archive sub-folder with the game data added to the file name. That copy of the combat report does not get corrected when you open the turn. Intel Monkey uses those files in the /archive sub-folder, so the new version of Intel Monkey will instruct the player to first open the turn, then tell Intel Monkey to go. At at point Intel Monkey will compare the two files and if they are different, copy the good one over the bad one in the /archive sub-folder.
