Tomasek -> LCU fragment issue (1/30/2020 11:54:13 AM)

I split division to 3 parts. 2 unloaded in one enemy base (no opposition), part B unloaded in another base (some ships damaged during unloading, two sunk). The losses of part B were very small, but I have only fragment now - there is no parent unit. I have part A and C of a division, but instead of part B I have B/1. There is no other fragment of B anywhere. Obviously I cannot merge the B/1 into division, reinforce it etc.
Any idea of what to do? It happened likely a few turns back so we cannot re-do the turn.

First, this is not the best place to get help on this issue.
Secondly, are all of the parts off the surviving ships?....GP

Yes, everyone was unloaded. List of units shows only Part A and C of a division, and then B/1 fragment. I can only disband the fragment, but the list shows A and B and part C is not on the list of destroyed units (to be refreshed).

The B/1 part is probably less than half of the whole part B. so if you put all survivors in in hex, Parts A, B/1 and C, you can form up the division. That's all you can do about it. If the parts don't rejoin then you have a problem....GP

By the way, You should always save your game turns just in case. I have 30 days worth of save at all times....GP

yes, I have that problem. Perhaps an unknown bug.
A bit issue, since I lost a third of elite division forever... I have all turns so far (it just Dec 41), but it is no help in this case.

If that unit had it's ships sunk during landing, it is probably short of supply? I am not sure if the fragment will become the parent if supply is too low.

RangerJoe -> RE: LCU fragment issue (1/30/2020 8:12:02 PM)

Could the original have been picked up by other ships (aka survivors) but not showing up until those ships make port? I see where other ships pick up survivors but they don't show up as fragments on the other ships.

Nope, those troops go to the pool....GP

GetAssista -> RE: LCU fragment issue (1/31/2020 12:12:51 AM)

In a pinch you can disband a fragment in a national base (Tokyo) and you will be able to recombine A and C.
I'm not sure of a game would repair the fragment into a whole B with rest, but give it a try too

HansBolter -> RE: LCU fragment issue (1/31/2020 1:46:39 PM)

IIRC B/1 cannot exist without a B parent existing.

If the B parent gets destroyed the B/1 gets renamed as B parent.

As long as the fragment is carrying the B/1 designation, the B parent must still be in existence.

This should be able to be verified by clicking on the text that shows where components of the larger composite unit are located.
That interface should list A,C and B parent and show where they are located.

A screen shot of that interface would be helpful.
