Havoc11 -> [Logged] Chains of War - Taiwan Blitz (1/31/2020 12:05:03 AM)

I'm playing Taiwan Blitz from CoW DLC that I recently purchased. After a couple of minutes into the scenario the game lags like crazy and I get a white screen with a red cross in it. I try to shut down the game but it says "not responding". The game is only using approx 10% of my CPU (I9 9900k OC'd to 4.8ghz) and less than 1.5gb of memory which gradually starts to increase (I have 32gb installed). The only way to shut down the game is via Task Manager.

I've started CMO again, loaded an autosave and the same things start to happen but this time the game crashes, it's not showing up in Task Manager yet Steam says it's still running.

Just rebooted computer, started up again, load up CMO and play Taiwan Blitz, after a few mins the game lags and stops responding.

Not had any problems playing any other scenarios from this DLC, just Taiwan Blitz.

I managed to create a save, which I've hereby uploaded, maybe a dev might get chance to look at it.

Thank you.

Don't wanna be that guy.. I run OC'd too. But just to help your case. I would suggest UNOVERCLOCKING your system, including any aggressive memory clocks/timings and re-confirming it still falls over. If I was the dev, I may likely not even bother to check if you're stating such an OC.

Chances are it has nothing to do with it... but the fact you called it out might suggest its an "OVERCLOCK!" worthy of note... for me, with my system and timings; that does mean losing games to the very occasional OC crash...

For CMO and CMANO, they both seem to be quite sensitive to Memory - long sessions (e.g. 3+ hours) or very large scenarios seem to stress normally otherwise stable RAM in my experience. I've never found CPU really had that much of a beating (I run a 5960x at 4.5Ghz - but my memory is quite aggressive

I took the save and ran it for about 15 minutes with no issues. Launched some aircraft and some MRLS attacks. Worked fine.

For comparison, I'm running on a MacBook Pro, 2.3 GHz Quad core i5, 8GB RAM, and using Parallels Desktop to run Windows 10. I had the laptop unplugged so it was running in power conserving mode as well.

Is there an issue here?
