Well, I aint got a television, but I managed to see a bit of the game at a restaurant and then at my father-in-law's house. It was neat to see two "old timey" teams playing - Chiefs vs. 49ers. The only thing that would've completed the nostalgic trip would've been to see Jan Stenereud, Len Dawson, Hank Stram and John Brodie in the game.

Congratulations to John III and all the Chiefs fans (and really to the 49ers folks too). Both teams are very good and seem darned professional.

I think the 49ers coach is very good. Unless I miss my guess, he'll be top-notch for many years to come.

As an Eagle fan, I'm glad Andy finally won. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy (really).

As opposed to the litany of knuckle-dragging Neanderthals that the Eagles usually employ on their football team, Andy Reid always struck me as having a great deal of class. I'm glad he finally won the big one. [8D]

Shots Fired!
Faint praise coming from Jerry's Home for Wayward Footballers. How many Cowboys have arrest records? Was it because of the 'Boys that the NFL instituted fines for teams with too many players suspended? [X(]

LeeChard -> RE: OT: How 'bout them... (2/6/2020 9:09:07 AM)

Puh-lease. You think the Raiders would let anyone come close to their 'felons-playin'-football records? I think if it was close they'd hold a mandatory scrimmage and have everybody go knock over a bank. Just to make sure.

The Chefs did good. [:D]

moore4807 -> RE: OT: How 'bout them... (2/7/2020 10:56:55 PM)

As a long suffering Eagles Fan, I liked Andy Reid but absolutely agreed with his firing in Philly. Two reasons -
1) When 70,000+ fans, the opposing defense and coaching staff, the Fox announcers, and just about everyone in America watching - the Eagles play calling of Short Pass, Short Pass, Run, Punt. Follow up with repeat play call set #1, substitute long bomb on third series for opening play... got a LOT old - and Andy wouldn't change his ways.
2) When Andy drafted McNabb - he HAD to succeed with him! So to make up for Donovan's lack of arm strength and accuracy every receiver the Eagles had sacrificed Y.A.C. and their bodies from McNabb throwing at their feet to avoid interceptions!!!

While the current Eagles coach Doug Pederson definitely mixes it up and keeps a nearly 50-50 run/pass mix and uses trick plays, his one saving grace is he Won the Super Bowl (and beat the Patriots doing it!) to relieve the stress <grin>
