Does anyone have contact info for Bill Brown? I've been flipping turns with Bill for a while and he's always good about letting people know if he's gunna be out-and-about for a few days. Another player Bill games with contacted me by PM yesterday and was asking me if Bill had said anything about being off for a few days. And I note that Bill hasn't checked into the forum since the 18th...

If anyone has his phone number and would be willing to PM me I'd appreciate it. I just wanna check up and see if he's OK.

I received the following email today:

I am Robert,

Last Tuesday morning Bill suffered a heart attack and passed away. He left an instruction letter
and one item is to send this email to all on his contact list for this account.

I will be deleting this account soon, another instruction was to wipe this computer clean and
donate it to a worthy cause.

Sadly, Robert

I will miss Bill. I know he grew up around San Diego and that in his youth his family would come up to the Eastern Sierras for fishing and outdoor excursions.

I wish Bill fair winds and following seas.

Now I understand why he didn't respond to my communication attempts I made for you. I tried to send a message to Robert but the email address is down already[:(]. The version of Focus Pacific you guys where playing was mine that I think Bill made some moddifications too....GP

Hello GP,

Thanks for your attempts to contact Bill. I too received a bounce-back when attempting to respond to Robert's email.

Bill was a most excellent gaming-mate and I considered him to be a friend of high standards. It's kind of weird to spend so much time with a person in a game and never have the opportunity to meet them face-to-face and share a meal and a few good times with.

I also want to take this opportunity to thank you and of course Paradigm for the time and work on a mod that I've really fallen in love with. I know that Bill greatly enjoyed the mod also. I think the what-ifs and new toys in the mod fascinated him. Yes, Bill did make some modifications to the mod we were playing. His changes were more towards the starting values of many of the allied bases, which lowered the total allied points in the scenario. If you'd like, I can send you the scenario files containing Bill's last changes.
