Hi ToaW bro,

Well, I played one excellent scenario by Piero Falotti, it is modern, whole Europe map. It is called WW3 1992 War in Europe something like that.
I have it on some of my old toaw cd's.

Well, let me tell, you my ToAW brothers lol, it is excellent. I have played it well, I took whole Iraq as NATO, you have modern air toys like F22, etc... I played it on COW version so I am asking could Silvanski? Where is him, sent the guard to bring him here... Well, Silvanski you have done great job on Europe 1947... Could you look into this scenario. And Matrix send 10000Euros to Falloti. It is that good.

Unfortunately my HD crashed and I only played maybe 20 turns or so... Elmer would do better I guess because Russians didn't broke my line in Europe--- please anyone update it for TOAW 4. Excellent job on TOAW4.

I started a play of Europe 1947 as Axis against Elmer... maybe I'll mae AAR later...

Overlooked gem, this scenario is among top 10 scenarios for TOAW. Please include it in TOAW 4.

At the least, it would have to be converted for TOAW IV if not done so already. AFAIK, that can only be done if it is in TOAW III format already. If you have it in TOAW III format, then upload it here as a .zip file.

The aspects you mention (82nd etc.) are all in Bob Cross' "Next War in Europe" scenario, btw.

Thank you for your answer. I will try that sce of BoB Cross. His Africa sce is masterpiece.

The problem is first finding those CD's with TOAW scenarios. I will try to find it today. Well, I had all scenarios since TOAW 1. WOGY, TOAW 2, COW etc...

The other problem, bigger, I cannot remember is that scenarios for TOAW 2 or COW. Sorry I didn't have it for ToAW3 and I cannot install TOAW 3 beacuse that is on one of my older hd and anyway I have forgotten everything.

The best I could do is to try to locate at least original sce and post it here.

Piero Falloti was modest guy, it is sad that this scenario did't get attention it deserves among TOAW community.

The Iraquians have put a good fight in that scenario. But AI is no match for human brain.
he constntly attacked my airforce on airfields and lost hevily and almost all helis. But his air superiority was alsmost as mine constantly through the game which addedn nice layer of thrilling suspense on sce.
So, my plan was to attack him after Iraq was captured but problem was that Warsaw Pact was so powerful you had to time your attacks and overextend him.

In Iraq there was interesting game of heli assault. I admit personally I hate modern scenarios but Falloti have done
a tremendeous work and this scenario would be great in PBEM match.
OOB and TOOE was masterly done and it was not unrealistic. Like old equipment in 1947 scenario that would be out of use by 1947.
I enjoyed it.

ah well horror would be to set up cow again to try to play it.

I have TOAW III on another computer, I may be able to import the scenario through a couple of versions of the game and at least get something that loads in TOAW IV. (To get it to play well is something else).

Wow, you're fast, beers on me and I'll email I'll Duce to appoint Falotti at least as a commander of 8th Italian Army near SiegStadt LOL

I appreciate any feedback and maybe someone like Silvanski would want to fully update it for TOAW 4 clear bugs etc...
Will try it later. Thank you! If someone need some sce maybe I have it, put a request here. I play also Age of Succession well AGEOD games are great! And 1947 is a monster....

Nice to see that you are still around, alive and kicking! You have already done enermous service to TOAW community with
splendid update of Europa 1947, which I started to play again after seeing new version, erm.... when I get tired of TOAW I launch Attila Total War LOL but will try to defend Europe from Eastern Hordes :)

Well, this scenario is strategic in scope and have few very interesting ideas, with PO programmed at least to certain degree it could be really rewarding scenario for gameplay. Of all modern scenarios that I have, this one seemed best to me.

If Piero gives a green light for an overhaul, this scenario could become one of best ever that hit TOAW since 1998 :)

I played it on COW I think and PO did launch some serious attacks but he failed to grasp big strategic picture, or NATO would be toast in Europe. Excellent thing about this scenario that you have all NATO, Warsaw forces arsenal, all B1 bombers and other expensive "toys", and there is maybe no need to mess with equipment but other will maybe have reservations on this.

We may always sell this scenario to NATO just in case Putin gets mad LOL
But please make it challenging and winnable for both side, I think that scenario favoour Warsaw Pact, maybe some of his armies Russkies should be put on garrison status until released for service.

But anyway great scenario, personally I hate modern scenarios and don't play it but this one is a BOMB!!!

Yes, credit goes where is due, without his approval, I would not mess with it. It is his IP after all and I respect that. But, on the other hand I doubt that he will not give permission because we just want to update scenario for TOAW4, not mess it up but just bring it to the public where it can show it's potential. Scenario is a potential diamond, it just needs a little clean up and it will shine. I played it by chance, I wanted to play some strategic scenarios and I didn't have any new scenario at hand. And I started to play and I noticed that it plays really well. OK, all Iraqi units that were scheduled to reconstitute were reconstituded in Moscow and Iraq tanks were rumbling down the Moscow freeway but they didn't make it in time :)
If Piero have plans on its own, he can update scenario and I would welcome it. Just to bring it to playable state, in this state it is not good but with small additional work it will be a blast. Of course everyone will judge it when they play it but Piero is a genius.

Yes, just what I thought, Piero is very busy guy but he was kind enough to let us thinker with his brainchild. :)

Now it is everything up to whoever wants to update this scenario. Silvanski have already done mod of his Europa 1947, but I will not pester anyone. Now it is up to TOAW community to update this scenario. I am not scenario designer I admit that and I only open Editor to see some events but mostly do not touch it :)

Silvanski, it's your call. Now is a chance to be crowned as a King of TOAW Mod scene :)
Or anyone who update this scenario :)

In what scenario you can lose 20 B1B Bombers in one attack LOL?

As I was away from TOAW long time, take your time and negotiate between yourself who have time and devotion to make it right... It is a work but TOAW community will be greatful.

And Robert please let me know what scenarios you have designed. I have seen one of your nice work Korea 2012 something like that, what else, I will try it?

Scenarios I have designed that were included in TOAWIV: The Road to Moscow series. Destruction of Army Group Center 1944, Ardennes 1944, Operation Overlord 1944, Red Thunder II 1988, Korea 2013, 1914 Guns of August, La Grande Armee.
In some cases, I have made revisions to the scenarios but mostly minor. I have not had a chance to look at Piero's WWIII scenario. Perhaps a team effort...

Many thanks Robert! I will try all your scenarios.

I was also thinking that team effort should be put and that we ressurect this scenario and that it not goes into oblivion.
I can playtest it and I promise a good AAR after we finish it! I wrote numerous AAR's. And helped Daniel McBride with his The Great War 2.1 playtesting and suggestions. Same I have made many suggestions to FiTE team. That was also a great scenario and all praise to Soren Gaun and his friends... Well I was active mainly on sadly missed Gamesquad TOAW forums... It is a pitty that is gone. Lot's of good TOAW players were there!

I think that even Piero is still not aware that he made a masterpiece. Maybe he has a better version from 2004? Maybe. Mine is from 2000. I think. Why he didn't finished this scenario will be one of greatest misteries of XXI century LOL.
After we finish this scenario, I am sure that it will be standard TOAW 4 scenario. It is that good.
And really TOAW has maybe 50 excellent scenarios. This one is among 10 for me now.

Well done maestro, this could be considered TOAW ART!

Excellent work, we may putt it in revamp edition of brand new 1992 scenario.

My biggest suggestion till now is to open excluded countries for play in turn 20 let's say. No matter what Piero how designed this. Because someone has to look into events is it percentage chance per turn. I would redesign it so that it comes into play on turn 20. So one side gets Israel etc and Pact gets Syria.

Playing my turn 4 and will make update of my aar tonight.

Thanks Mario.

It if were me, I would change -a bit- some of Piero's color choices for units. For example, Egypt and Ireland have the same color scheme. That could be altered with no game effect, but the scenario would have to be edited to reflect the change. (The .col file only alters the appearance of the units, but does not change a .sce file). In hindsight, we might also want to not have the Turks so cozy with other NATO powers (less cooperation with Italy etc.), ditto France.

I also wonder about some of the equipment in units, but Piero may have deliberately included some things for better game play.

All in all, he did a LOT of unit and map work for this scenario. Amazing number of national armies and air forces are shown.

And on top of that Israel and Syria have same coulour and they are potentional enemies, frozen area.

But anyway so enjoyable scenario and so much details, later NATO will get B-2 Bombers F22 Raptor... Almost perfect.

Here is the .col file if anyone wants a copy.

Instructions:

1 - Change file type from .zip to .col

2 - (example, if your scenario name is "Falotti1992.sce" ... use whatever scenario name you have for this scenario)

3 - change the file name of the .col file to "Falotti1992.col"

4 - In your "Graphics Override" folder, create a new folder called "Falotti1992". Put the Falotti1992.col file inside the Falotti1992 folder.

The next time you run the scenario or saved game, the new icon colors should be in use.

Hi Doc,

Do you use "File Explorer" in Windows? It is the program with the file folder as its icon that allows you to see where all of your files are on your PC.

Use that to look at the folder with .zip file in it. In mine, the "view" is set to "details" so that the files are in a list on the screen. Anyway, right click on the file name of the .zip file. You can then edit the file name. Change "zip" to "col". It will ask for confirmation when you do this so confirm it.

Pop smoke if you have any questions. If the above doesn't work, I can send you the .col file in email.
